Joint resolution authorizing an agreement with the Newport Township Road District relating to the intersection improvements at Wadsworth Road and Dilleys Road.
Staff Summary
* The intersection of Wadsworth Road at Dilleys Road will be improved with a roundabout.
* To ensure proper operations of the roundabout, the County desires to perform routine and capital maintenance of the roundabout, street lighting, and signage, including that section of Dilleys Road, from Wadsworth Road north to Plaza Lane, which is under the jurisdiction of the Newport Township Road District (Road District).
* The Road District has requested that the County include resurfacing and culvert improvements to Dilleys Road, from the roundabout north to Plaza Lane.
* The Road District will reimburse the County for the costs associated with this work, estimated to be $109,150.
* The agreement was approved by the Road District on February 19, 2020.
* This project is included in the highway improvement program with construction planned to begin in 2020, and designated as Section 17-00076-19-CH.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Wadsworth Road, County Highway 17, and Dilleys Road south of Wadsworth Road, County Highway 15, are designated routes on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, Dilleys Road north of Wadsworth Road is under the jurisdiction of the Newport Township Road District (Road District); and
WHEREAS, to ensure the free flow of traffic and the safety and welfare of the motoring public, Lake County is desirous of improving the intersection of Wadsworth Road and Dilleys Road by constructing a roundabout; and
WHEREAS, to ensure proper operations of the roundabout, the County desires to perform routine and capital maintenance of the roundabout, street lighting and signage, including that section of Dilleys Road, from Wadsworth Road to south of Plaza Lane, which is under the jurisdiction of the Road District; and
