• Gary Gibson’s education includes a Master of Arts in Public Affairs degree from Northern Illinois University and Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Southern Illinois University.
• This resolution seeks County Board confirmation for the appointment of Gary Gibson to the position of County Administrator, effective February 12, 2020.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, a nationwide search was conducted to develop a list of qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of County Administrator; and
WHEREAS, during this search, multiple applicants from across the country submitted their credentials for consideration; and
WHEREAS, following the initial screening process, interviews were conducted with three candidates; and
WHEREAS, after a lengthy screening process, the County Board Chair, with the guidance of an ad hoc recruitment committee, interviewed three qualified candidates; and
WHEREAS, after the initial interview process, the Lake County Board Chair, in consultation with various Board Members, determined that Interim County Administrator Gary Gibson is the best candidate to fill the permanent position of County Administrator; and
WHEREAS, the County Board Chair has nominated Mr. Gary Gibson to the position of County Administrator to serve in said position at the pleasure of the County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Mr. Gary Gibson be appointed County Administrator at an annual salary of $225,000, with other terms and conditions of employment outlined in the Offer Letter (attached hereto and made part hereof): and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said appointment shall take effect on February 12, 2020.
