Staff Summary
• At the September 25, 2019 Public Works, Planning and Transportation Committee meeting, the Committee directed staff to prepare draft ordinance language regarding entertainment-oriented animal exhibition practices for future Committee discussion.
• Planning, Building, and Development Department staff has prepared a draft set of proposed amendments, attached as “Exhibit A,” that would that would prohibit entertainment-oriented animal exhibitions in the unincorporated area with the exception of properties zoned and established as permanent venues for such exhibitions with such animals housed on-site.
• Staff seeks Committee feedback on the draft prior to bringing back amendments for Committee action at a subsequent meeting.
