Committee action approving Modification Number One with Automated Logic, Lisle, Illinois, for Building Automation System (BAS) improvements.

 

Staff Summary

                     On March 13, 2018, the Lake County Board authorized a contract with Automated Logic for hardware and software maintenance for the web interface open protocol BAS for Public Defenders Office, Park City Branch Courts, Division of Transportation, Central Permit Facility, and Depke Juvenile Facility in the amount of $69,750.

                     The Depke Courthouse Expansion BAS has been under warranty for the past year. The warranty is concluding, and services must be added to support the inspections and maintenance of the BAS.

                     A contract modification is to add the Depke Courthouse Expansion is the most efficient and inexpensive solution to providing these necessary services.

                     Contract Modification Number One increases the overall contract by 28.6 percent at a cost of $89,723.

                     Pursuant to Article 10-101 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, Cooperative Purchasing, Lake County may participate in a cooperative purchasing agreement with Automated Logic, which will be effective immediately, and allows for annual renewals through June 28, 2021 for the procurement of contracted hourly rates and equipment costs for future needs as budgeted.

                     In accordance with Article 8, Section 101 (1) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance it is requested that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to enter into Contract Modification Number One.

1.                     On March 13, 2018, the Lake County Board authorized a contract with Automated Logic, for hardware and software maintenance for the web interface open protocol building automation system for Public Defenders Office, Park City Branch Courts, Division of Transportation, Central Permit Facility, and Depke Juvenile Facility in the amount of $69,750.

 

2.                      To maintain the current level of service for the equipment there is a need for ongoing quarterly and annual inspections of equipment and software maintenance for the various network switches, software, valves, actuators, and air handling units, chilled and hot water systems, fan coil and rooftop units.

 

3.                     A contract modification is needed to include maintenance services on additional equipment that has been installed at the Depke Courthouse Expansion.

 

4.                     In accordance with Article 8, section 101 (1) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, it is hereby requested that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to enter into Contract Modification One.

 

5.                     Contract Modification Number One increases the overall contract by 28.6 percent at a cost of $89,723.
