Staff Summary
* As part of Fiscal Year 2020 budget process, funding was appropriated for BAS.
* This project will upgrade the aging BAS with technology from Trane with a new intelligent field controller to coordinate all building controls.
* The existing Trane building unit controller is beyond its useful life and the software is obsolete. This contract will install a new web-enabled BAS controller (BACnet) that will allow the County to remotely monitor and control the remaining building automation heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.
* Lake County Purchasing identified a cooperative purchasing contract with Trane U.S. Inc. through the U.S. Communities Contract to procure the needed service by the original equipment manufacturer.
* Pursuant to Article 10-101 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, Cooperative Purchasing, Lake County may participate in a cooperative purchasing agreement for the procurement of goods with one or more public procurement units in accordance with an agreement entered into between the participants.

WHEREAS, as part of Fiscal Year 2020 Budget Process, services were approved to upgrade the aging building automation system with new technology by using the Trane System Controller (SC+); and

WHEREAS, this work will provide and install a new web enabled BACnet Native building automation system solutions to replace/upgrade existing Trane Tracer Summit System; and

WHEREAS, Lake County Purchasing identified a cooperative purchasing contract with Trane U.S. Inc. through the U.S. Communities Contract to procure the needed service by the original equipment manufacturer; and
