Joint resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) for contractual police services by and among the Village of Beach Park (Beach Park) and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022 in the amount of $1,971,942.17.
Staff Summary
• Beach Park and LCSO has agreed to renew the police services contract for a three-year period from January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2022.
• LCSO has provided police services to Beach Park for 18 years
• The contract includes a continuation of the current services which include two 8.5 hour shifts per day, from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., for a total of 6,205 hours per year.
• The State’s Attorney’s Office and the Lake County Risk Department have reviewed and approved this renewal contract.
• Beach Park will reimburse 100 percent of the cost of the two contract deputy positions for all three years.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Village of Beach Park has requested that the Sheriff continue to provide police services to the said Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Beach Park has requested the continuation of police services for two eight and one-half hour shifts per day; and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff has negotiated an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village relative to providing said services.
WHEREAS, the County and the Village are proposing that the new rate for policing services will be:

The monthly installment is due on the fifteenth day of each month, beginning in January; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the Board and the Sheriff are hereby authorized to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village of Beach Park for the purpose of continuing to provide police services in the Village, effective January 1, 2020.
