• The Vernon Hills Water System serves approximately 25,000 residents in the Village of Vernon Hills and surrounding areas and requires additional storage capacity to protect users in the event of increased water demand or emergency circumstances.
• RHMG Engineers, Inc. conducted conceptual analysis and aided in site selection, and a 2,000,000-gallon water reservoir will be designed at 50 American Way, Vernon Hills, Illinois.
• The original contract was awarded through a full and open competition. The current award is in accordance with the prior relationship provisions of the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. Seq.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake owns, operates and maintains several water systems throughout the County including the Vernon Hills Water System; and
WHEREAS, the Vernon Hills water system serves residents of the Village of Vernon Hills and surrounding areas, serving a total population of more than 25,000 people; and
WHEREAS, the Vernon Hills water system requires additional storage capacity to protect system users in the event of increased water demand or emergency circumstances; and
WHEREAS, due to the specialized nature of this project, the County requires design related services from an engineering firm qualified in this type of engineering; and
WHEREAS, Lake County has a prior satisfactory relationship with RHMG Engineers, Inc. of Mundelein, Illinois in accordance with the Purchasing Ordinance and the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act; and
WHEREAS, an Agreement has been negotiated with RHMG Engineers, Inc. of Mundelein, Illinois to provide the necessary professional engineering design services; and
WHEREAS, these services are in accordance with Lake County Purchasing Ordinance Article 5-101(3) and the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et seq); and
WHEREAS, execution of an Agreement for Professional Services must be authorized by Resolution of this County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Agreement for Professional Services with RHMG Engineers, Inc. of Mundelein, Illinois, in the amount of $262,779 for professional engineering design services associated with a new Vernon Hills Water System Reservoir.
