Staff Summary
• As part of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2008 budget process, architectural and engineering services were approved as part of the Capital Improvement Program for the selective improvements of the tenth floor Administrative Tower.
• Work will include professional design services and cost estimating for the roof replacement, heating, ventilation and air condition (HVAC) equipment and Administrative Tower elevators replacement and modernization, the Lake County Television (LCTV) production studio modernization, and interior space improvements.
• In accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, a firm may be selected directly by the County based on a prior satisfactory relationship and the recommended consultant is HDR Architects, Inc.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County desires to contract with an architecture and engineering firm for comprehensive design services for critical infrastructure improvements of the Lake County Administrative Tower 10th Floor in the amount of $451,000; and
WHEREAS, this award continues the design and renovation efforts identified in the Lake County Administrative Tower in 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2018; and
WHEREAS, HDR Architecture Inc. has unequaled knowledge of the Lake County Administrative Tower architecture, infrastructure, and building systems; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, has selected HDR Architecture, Chicago, Illinois, in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, an agreement, and any amendments, between HDR Architecture in the amount of $451,000 for comprehensive Phase Two Design Development and Phase Three Construction Documents for comprehensive design services of critical infrastructure improvements for the roof replacement, the heating, ventilation, and air condition (HVAC) equipment and Administrative Tower elevators replacement and modernization, the Lake County Television (LCTV) production studio modernization, and interior space improvements.
