Resolution authorizing a contract with Johnson Controls, Arlington Heights, Illinois, for Building Automation Systems (BAS) upgrades to the Center Courts in the amount of $31,429.26.

Staff Summary
* As part of Fiscal Year 2019 Budget Process, services were approved to retrofit the original air handler equipment with a variable speed drive to improve efficiency and decrease overall costs.
* This work will install and commission five wireless thermostats and occupancy sensors in the courtrooms, as well as, the secure hallways adjacent to the Judge's chambers on all four floors in the Center Courts facility. This will improve temperature control and reduce fan operation during winter and unoccupied hours, which will reduce oval operating costs.
* Lake County Purchasing identified a cooperative purchasing contract with Johnson Controls through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Program to procure the needed service by the original equipment manufacturer.
* Pursuant to Article 10-101 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, Cooperative Purchasing, Lake County may participate in a cooperative purchasing agreement for the procurement of goods with one or more public procurement units in accordance with an agreement entered into between the participants.
* This contract authorizes the purchase the installation and commissioning of equipment facilities in the amount of $31,429.26.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, at its March 2018 meeting, the Lake County Board authorized a contract with Johnson Controls for quarterly and annual inspections of equipment and software maintenance for the Building Automation Systems (BAS); and

WHEREAS, Johnson Controls building technology services have been installed at the following County facilities: Administrative Tower, Babcox Justice Center, Main Courthouse, and Central Permit Facility; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to install and wire five wireless repeaters flags within the hallways of the Judge's chambers on all four floors ...
