ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, recent amendments to State Statute 230 ILCS 40, the Illinois Video Gaming Act, requires that Lake County amend its code to comply; and
WHEREAS, Lake County shall amend Chapter 115 of the Lake County Code of Ordinances, Section 115.04 C, to state “No more than the allowed number of video gaming terminals pursuant to the State Video Gaming Act may be located on the licensed premises”; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 115 shall also amend Section 115.04 D to state “Other than having the allowed number of video gaming terminals pursuant to the State Video Gaming Act with valid video gaming terminal permit stickers, a licensed establishment is prohibited from having, anywhere on its premises, an electronic video gaming machine which may be available to play or simulate the play of poker, line up, blackjack, faro, roulette, craps, slots, or any other card or dice game or other game of chance, or that is otherwise similar to a gambling or gaming device under this code, even if solely for amusement purposes..”
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that amendments to the Lake County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 15 - Video Gaming, as attached to this ordinance be adopted and be made effective immediately.
