In 2018, LCHD was awarded funding by HRSA through the SUD-MH award. This funding was to support and expand medication-assisted treatment at LCHD locations. On July 14, 2019, LCHD received the second installment of these funds in the amount of $169,500. Because of the timing of the initial award, this second installment was not included in the 2019 County budget. Therefore, these dollars need to be appropriated. Going forward, the funds will be included as part of the Section 330 annual award and will be budgeted annually. Funding specifically supports two substance abuse counselors and support staff.
Suggested Motion
To approve additional funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration in the amount of $169,500 to support and expand medication-assisted treatment services.
