Staff Summary
* In order to perform routine and necessary highway maintenance, the Division of Transportation must purchase Patrol One general maintenance materials and services.
* Patrol One general maintenance materials and services may include, but not be limited to, supplies such as paint, signposts, shoulder aggregate, and deicing materials, as well as utility services and repairs.
* This project is included in the highway improvement program, and is designated as Section 20-00000-00-GM.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, to maintain the condition of the designated routes on the County highway system, the Division of Transportation annually undertakes various general maintenance activities that utilize miscellaneous highway materials and services; and

WHEREAS, general maintenance materials and services may include, but not limited to, supplies such as paint, signposts, shoulder aggregate, and deicing materials, as well as utility services and repairs; and

WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the general maintenance materials and services for 2020 is estimated to be $960,100.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $760,100 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for maintaining streets and highways, including utility services, under the applicable Illinois Highway Code, from December 1, 2019, to November 30, 2020, and $200,000 of Matching Tax funds for deicing materials needed to support various maintenance activities on various County highways, and designated as Section 20-00000-00-GM.
