* These funds will be used to provide connection to six traffic signals and Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) cameras to Lake County PASSAGE along the Illinois Route 59 corridor in the southwest portion of Lake County.
* The DCEO will provide $200,000 for the design and construction of traffic signal controller upgrades, communication infrastructure, and PTZ camera installations.
* The DCEO grant was secured through Illinois State Senator McConchie's office.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, on June 17, 2019, was notified by the DCEO that it was approved to receive $200,000 in grant funds for the interconnection of six traffic signals to the Lake County Division of Transportation PASSAGE system; and
WHEREAS, the DCEO and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement stating the terms and conditions by which the DCEO will provide said $200,000 grant to Lake County, in support of the expansion of said interconnection to the Lake County PASSAGE system, a draft copy attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Engineer and the Division of Transportation be authorized and they are directed to execute an agreement, and any subsequent amendments, for the receipt of $200,000 of grant funds, from the DCEO to be used to expand the Lake County PASSAGE system.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the acceptance of the grant funds and the expansion of said Lake County PASSAGE system will be a designated part of the 2019 Intelligent Transportation System PASSAGE Field Elements project.
