Title
Presentation outlining the progress of the water and sewer rate and connection fees study.
Staff Summary
• Staff has continued to work with professional consultants Burns and McDonnell to determine appropriate connection fees.
• Analysis indicates that in order to cover the cost of future growth across the County’s water and sewer systems, it is necessary to increase connection fees.
• Staff has worked to develop two options for the Committee to consider. Option One: Immediate implementation of the maximum recommended charge and Option Two: Phased implementation reflecting 10 percent per year until maximum recommended fee is reached.
• Staff is requesting final direction on which connection fee option to implement.
• Based on direction from the committee, staff will propose a new Rate Ordinance (Chapter 51) establishing all water and sewer user rates and connection fees for the County’s water and sewer systems.
