Staff Summary
• The Enterprise Technology Department has a core network switch, which routes county network traffic for all facilities. It is at end of life and needs to be replaced.
• Pursuant to Article 10-101 of the County’s Purchasing Ordinance, Cooperative Purchasing, the County may participate in a cooperative purchasing agreement for the procurement of goods with one or more public procurement units in accordance with an agreement entered between the participants.
• To procure needed equipment that was competitively solicited and awarded a cooperative purchasing contract with CDW has been identified through the State of Illinois Central Management Services (CMS) for Cisco Products.
• This item is budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2019 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the core network switch provides critical service for the network and data for all facilities county wide and
WHEREAS, the current core network switch is at its end of life; and
WHEREAS, to procure needed equipment that was competitively solicited and awarded the County’s Purchasing Division identified a cooperative purchasing contract with CDW through the State of Illinois Central Management Services (CMS) for Cisco Products; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 10-101 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, a cooperative purchasing contract with State of Illinois CMS has been identified for the purchase; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with CDW of Vernon Hills, Illinois, in an amount of $57,329.20 charged to 101-1102050-84030-000-000-000-11013.
