Illinois Department of Human Services - Prescription Drug Overdose Program - $36,875 - Johnson-Maurello

Body

The Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) has been awarded a grant for state fiscal year 2020 (July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020) to support prescription drug overdose prevention activities in Lake County including the distribution of Naloxone. The grant is awarded through the Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery. LCHD/CHC anticipated $122,500 in grant funds for the program, which was included in the county 2019 budget. LCHD/CHC has now been informed that it has been awarded an additional $36,875. These new funds specifically support the purchase of additional Naloxone. The purchase will occur in county fiscal year 2019. Appropriation is unbalanced as the new funds include 10% for indirect costs.

Suggested Motion

To approve the additional grant funding of $36,875 from the Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery to support the prescription drug overdose program.
