The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has provided the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) with $30,000 in additional funding for the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP). Funds are for state fiscal year 2019 which runs from July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019. The additional funding is 100% clinical dollars which means that funds are used to cover the cost of mammograms for IBCCP participants. Prior to this amendment, the grant was budgeted at $576,293.16. With the amendment, the total grant funding increases to $606,293.16. The IBCCP program provides mammograms and cervical cancer screenings to uninsured women in Lake County. The additional funding was awarded based on LCHD/CHC fully expending its initial allotment of clinical funding.
