R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the Lake County Public Works and Transportation Committee adopted an Excess Property Disposal Policy at its regular meeting on March 8, 2017; and

WHEREAS, an excess parcel of County-owned property designated as Index #9 (property pin number 04-10-109-018) has been identified as a priority to dispose of by quitclaim deed under the transfer of excess property to government agencies section of said policy; and

WHEREAS, the excess property containing approximately 0.193 acres is in proximity to a Village street and park; and

WHEREAS, the excess parcel, which was acquired in 1972 and is not needed for current or future transportation improvements by the Lake County Division of Transportation, will be more appropriately utilized by the public under the stewardship of the Village; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the 765 ILCS 5/16, the County Board may authorize its County Board Chair to convey real estate belonging to it; and

WHEREAS, the Local Government Property Transfer Act, 50 ILCS 605/0.01 et seq. authorizes units of local government to agree to transfer land between said units of local government; and
