Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Service Area Competition Grant Application - Pfister

HRSA has released the FY2020 Service Area Competition grant opportunity. Each Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is required to go through a competitive grant opportunity process called the “Service Area Competition” every three years. In alternate years, noncompetitive continuation applications are submitted.
The Service Area Competition is for Section 330 grant funding which is the primary grant for the FQHC and encompasses, for LCHD/CHC, both $4.7M in grant dollars and the agency’s FQHC designation. LCHD/CHC is up for the Service Area Competition this year and its application will be due September 4, 2019. Similar to the site visit, it will include a comprehensive review of LCHD/CHC’s FQHC activities including a description of the agency’s policies, procedures, patient population, service area and quality measures.
Suggested Motion
To approve a Service Area Competition application to the Health Resources and Services Administration for continuation of Section 330 grant funding and the agency’s FQHC designation.
