Illinois Department of Public Health Beach Program Grant - Kritz

The Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) received a grant contract in the amount of $26,543.33 for the Beach Program for state fiscal year 2019 (July 1, 2018-June 30, 2019). The amount originally included in the county budget was $17,242 based on prior year awards. LCHD/CHC is requesting an appropriation of an additional $6,560 for the grant year, based on projected services. The appropriation is unbalanced as funds will be used to offset existing salary/fringe dollars for staff. The Beach Program funds beach water quality monitoring and public notification services. It is awarded to governmental entities managing beaches along Lake Michigan.

To approve the grant funding of $6,560 from the Illinois Department of Public Health to support the Beach Program.
