Title

HRSA Integrated Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) Grant Application - Pfister

Body

The Health Resources and Services Administration has released an expanded service grant opportunity entitled Integrated Behavioral Health Services (IBHS).  All Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) are eligible to apply.  Each center is eligible for a maximum of $145,000.  This is ongoing funding that, if approved, will be awarded in the current grant year and then added to LCHD’s annual Section 330 award.  Grants are to be used to expand the integrated behavioral health workforce (at least .5 FTE are to be added) and to improve integrated behavioral health services.

As clarified during the HRSA site visit, one of the roles of the Governing Council is to approve all grant applications within the FQHC.   This agenda item is therefore submitted to request approval for LCHD to apply for funds through this opportunity.  LCHD’s plan is to use grant funding to support additional telepsychiatry services at the Midlakes Health Center and counseling services at the School Based Health Center.

Suggested Motion

To approve an application for $145,000 to the Health Resources and Services Administration for an expansion of integrated behavioral health services.
