Joint resolution authorizing an agreement with RHMG Engineers, Inc., Mundelein, Illinois, in the amount of $41,705 for design engineering supplementary planning services for the Vernon Hills water system reservoir project.
Staff Summary
* The Vernon Hills water system serves approximately 25,000 residents of the Village of Vernon Hills and surrounding areas and requires additional storage capacity to protect users in the event of increased water demand or emergency circumstances.
* RHMG Engineers, Inc. of Mundelein, Illinois, previously conducted engineering design work to determine the size of the additional water storage requirement and evaluated potential sites to construct a reservoir based on property owned by the Department or zoned for such purposes.
* The potential construction locations identified in the original study were not supported by the Village of Vernon Hills and Vernon Hills Park District. This follow on study will build on the existing analysis and evaluate new alternative sites recommended by the Village of Vernon Hills.
* The original contract was awarded to RHMG Engineering through a full and open competition. The current award is in accordance with the prior relationship provisions of the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. Seq.
* This resolution authorizes a professional services agreement with RHMG Engineers, Inc. of Mundelein, Illinois, in the amount of $41,705.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains water systems throughout the County including the Vernon Hills water system in the South Central operational area; and
WHEREAS, the Vernon Hills water system serves residents of the Village of Vernon Hills and surrounding areas, serving a total population of more than 25,000 people; and
