Staff Summary
* Lake County selects professional engineering firms in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. Seq.
* The Lake County Division of Transportation's (LCDOT) Consultant Selection Process has been approved by the Federal Highway Administration and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), and the firm selected for this project was selected in accordance with this approved process.
* Phase III construction engineering services are required to utilize federal highway funds for the widening and reconstruction of Weiland Road, from Deerfield Parkway to Aptakisic Road.
* LCDOT received and evaluated Statements of Interest and Qualifications from seven professional firms, of which three were short-listed and presented to a consultant selection committee.
* As a result of the interviews, the selected and recommended firm is Baxter & Woodman, Inc., Crystal Lake, Illinois, with a maximum cost of $1,110,745.45.
* This improvement will include widening to five lanes, adding a new bike path and sidewalk, street lighting, drainage improvements, and landscape improvements.
* This improvement is included in the highway improvement program, and designated as Section 18-00158-13-WR.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Weiland Road, County Highway 17, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic on Weiland Road is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the County as a whole; and
