Staff Summary
• At the February committee meeting, direction was provided to staff to investigate the process to join the County Climate Coalition, a national coalition which aims to engage and encourage county governments across the nation to implement proactive strategies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
• In April staff presented a draft resolution for Lake County to join the County Climate Coalition.
• The resolution incorporates comments received at the April meeting and reaffirms the County’s commitment to environmental sustainability and mitigating climate change and formally joins the County Climate Coalition.
