Joint resolution authorizing the Workforce Development Department to enter into Employment Worksite Agreements with multiple public, private or nonprofit organizations for the Lake County Summer Youth Work Experience Program.

Staff Summary
* The Workforce Development Department (Workforce) administers the Lake County Summer Youth Work Experience Program. The program provides 215 eligible youth a subsidized work experience opportunity for six weeks and up to 25 hours weekly.
* Eligible youth must be between the ages of 14 -18 and meet low income guidelines; or up to the age of 22 with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
* Workforce identifies up to 40 public, private or nonprofit organizations throughout Lake County to serve as a worksite and host a youth in a meaningful work experience.
* Worksites must agree that they have the capacity to host a youth for six weeks in the summer, provide up to 25 hours of weekly work experience activities, provide on-site supervision, maintain open communication with Workforce, and complete youth progress reports.
* The Worksite Agreement outlines the responsibilities of the participating worksites and Lake County.
* This joint resolution authorizes the County Board Chair or their designee to sign the agreements.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, it is necessary to enter into an Employment Worksite Agreement with participating organizations for the 2019 Lake County Summer Youth Work Experience Program; and

WHEREAS, these agreements outline the responsibilities of the summer worksites and Lake County; and

WHEREAS in order to execute these agreements, it is necessary for the Chair of the County Board or their designee to sign these agreements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the County Board or their designee is hereby authorized to execute the 2019 Lake County Summer Youth Employment Worksite Agreements with multiple organizations.
