Title

Proposed Revisions to the Lake County Health Department Animal Care and Control Administrative Procedures and Policies (as authorized in Lake County Code of Ordinances Chapter 172) - Kritz

Body

The proposed revisions are in regard to the registration of cats and dogs for military personnel at the Great Lakes Naval Base. Great Lakes personnel living in military housing are required to purchase a rabies tag from the base. The proposed revisions exempt those who live in military housing from purchasing a Lake County rabies registration tag, provided a military tag is purchased. Great Lakes has an effective system in place for tracking vaccinated and registered animals among their personnel.

These proposed revisions to the Animal Care and Control Administrative Procedures and Policies were reviewed and approved by the Environmental Health Advisory Committee at their February 18, 2019 meeting.

Suggested Motion

To approve the revisions to Lake County Health Department Animal Care and Control Administrative Procedures and Policies as proposed.
