• This resolution seeks County Board confirmation for the appointment of Carl Kirar to the position of Director of Facilities and Construction Services, effective July 8, 2019.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, there exists a vacancy for the Director of Facilities and Construction Services position; and
WHEREAS, the position was advertised nationally to attract talented, dynamic and progressive individuals with unique skillsets; and
WHEREAS, several applicants from across the country submitted applications for consideration; and
WHEREAS, following the initial screening process, the Interim County Administrator, Assistant County Administrator, along with a and the Assistant County Administrator, along with an Executive panel and a Staff panel, interviewed several top candidates; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Carl Kirar was selected as the most qualified choice for the position; and
WHEREAS, the Interim County Administrator has consulted with the Chairman of the Board and hereby recommends the appointment of Carl Kirar as the Director of the Facilities and Construction Services Department for Lake County, and
WHEREAS, a conditional offer has been extended to Mr. Kirar pursuant to the terms of the letter attached hereto, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kirar has accepted the offer pending appointment by this County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Carl Kirar be appointed Director of the Facilities and Construction Services Department, effective July 8, 2019, at an annual salary of $170,000, with other terms and conditions of employment outlined in the Letter of Acceptance (attached hereto and made a part hereof).
