Discussion on County’s options for participation in a sustainability and climate-related government organization.
Staff Summary
• During its February meeting, the Committee discussed a number of topics relating to environmental sustainability and climate change. During this discussion, Committee members requested the Sustainability Team look into the County’s participation in the County Climate Coalition.
• Staff researched the details of the County Climate Coalition and similar organizations and drafted a template resolution for discussion.
• In staff’s research, the Greenest Region Compact was also identified as another possible organization of interest to the County. The details regarding the County’s participation in this organization will also be presented to Committee as an option for discussion.
