Ordinance amending water and sewer related rates for certain Lake County systems to adjust for a third-party pass-through rate increase to the previously approved ordinance.
Staff Summary
• The Rate Ordinance establishes all water and sewer user rates and connection fees for the County’s water and sewer systems and is reviewed annually or as needed.
• Under the terms of the agreement between the County and the Village of Libertyville, the Village can adjust wastewater treatment plant charges to the County when there is a rate adjustment for Village users.
• The Village of Libertyville has notified the County of a wholesale sewer increase that will take effect June 1, 2019 and affect all users of the treatment facility including users within the Village of Green Oaks.
• The wholesale sewer rate charged to the County will increase $1.20 from $38.78 to $39.98 per residential customer equivalent (RCE), or $4.85 to $5, per 1,000 gallons.
• The Green Oaks wholesale sewer rate will increase from $48.39 to $48.81 per RCE, or $6.05 to $6.10 per 1,000 gallons.
• The County has already provided notice of the increase to the Village of Green Oaks.

O R D I N A N C E
WHEREAS, the County Board incorporated Chapter 51: Water and Sewer Rates and Charges, into the Lake County Code; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 51 establishes all water and sewer user rates, connection fees and additional charges for use of the County’s water and sewer systems; and
WHEREAS, the Ordinance is revised periodically to modify rates and fees, as necessary; and
WHEREAS, the modified rates and fees established in Sections 51.27 are attached.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDINANCE, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the water and sewer rates, connection fees and additional charges, attached hereto, be adopted and be made effective on dates as identified in various sections of Chapter 51.
