Joint resolution authorizing an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Lake County and the Village of Beach Park to provide fully reimbursed maintenance services for sewer-related operations.
Staff Summary
• The County and the Village of Beach Park wish to enter into this IGA to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of Lake County.
• The County will perform maintenance services for the Village of Beach Park on an as needed basis as outlined in a comprehensive agreement.
• The IGA allows County staff to provide routine preventative maintenance, lift station maintenance and operation services, bank and load testing of generator(s), and perform root cutting, cleaning, and televising of sanitary sewers mains.
• County staff will charge the Village of Beach Park on a time and material basis for the operational and maintenance services provided.
• The agreement was approved by the Village of Beach Park at its February 28, 2019, meeting, pending approval by the County Board.
• This resolution authorizes the execution of an IGA between Lake County and the Village of Beach Park to provide maintenance services for sewer-related operations.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County owns, operates and maintains sanitary sewer systems in certain areas of the County; and
WHEREAS, the County will perform cost reimbursed maintenance services for the Village of Beach Park on an as needed basis; and
WHEREAS, the County will provide routine preventative maintenance, lift station maintenance and operation services, bank and load testing of generator(s), and perform root cutting, cleaning, and televising of sanitary sewers mains; and
WHEREAS, the appropriate Intergovernmental services to provide maintenance services for sewer related operations has been approved and ratified by the Village of Beach Park; and
WHEREAS, execution of said IGA must be authorized by resolution of this County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the County Board and the Clerk of said County be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached Intergovernmental Services to provide maintenance services for sewer related operations with the Village of Beach Park.
