Joint resolution approving and authorizing the Lake County Sheriff's Office to enter into a contract with Axon Enterprise, Inc., Scottsdale, Arizona, for dashboard camera hardware, video storage, removal of old equipment and installation of new equipment in 125 vehicles.
Staff Summary
* There is a need to procure new in-car dashboard video cameras, software and digital media evidence storage for the Lake County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) fleet of 125 vehicles.
* The current contract was executed in 2012 and all one-year contract extensions were enacted and now exhausted.
* The current equipment uses outdated technology, is at the end of its useful lifespan, and is no longer supported by the vendor.
* In accordance with Section 10-101 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the County Purchasing Division has identified a competitively solicited and awarded cooperative purchasing contract for telecommunications services offered by Axon, through the National Purchasing Partners, which would allow for an integrated camera system with the Axon Body cameras already in use since 2017.
* The initial cost to procure 125 in-car dashboard cameras, unlimited video storage, removal of existing camera hardware and installation of new hardware is $512,245. There is an ongoing software maintenance cost for years two through five estimated at $196,500 annually.
* The term of this contract is April 2019 through March 2024.
* This contract will be funded within the Sheriff's Office current operating budget.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, there is a need to procure new in-car dashboard video cameras, software and digital media evidence storage for the Lake County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) fleet of 125 vehicles; and
