Staff Summary
• As a mandated Emergency Management Agency (EMA) by regulation of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Act (20 ILCS 3305).
• Lake County must maintain a comprehensive EOP, which must be updated and reviewed by IEMA against state standards every two years.
• Lake County, through its EMA, recently completed technical updates to the Lake County Emergency Operations Plan.
• The County Board Chair is designated by IEMA as the official signatory of the County’s EOP.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lake County, through the Lake County Emergency Management Agency, has updated the Lake County Emergency Operations Plan to be consistent with current state and federal guidance and requirements; and
WHEREAS, Lake County is required by regulation of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency to submit for review the Lake County Emergency Operations Plan every two years; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by signature of the Chair of the Lake County Board, is required by state regulation to accept and approve an appropriate Emergency Operations Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the acceptance and approval of the 2018 Lake County Emergency Operations Plan by the Chair is hereby authorized.
