Commission Action: Amend Policies for the Provision of Assistance through Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG)
Staff Summary
• Policies for the consistent provision of the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) were required under the HEARTH Act and approved as Policies for the Provision of Assistance through Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) on December 16, 2013.
• Current revisions are necessary in response to the initial four years of experience with ESG’s rapid rehousing program. The proposed policy revision is to extend the provision of rental assistance in rapid rehousing from a maximum of nine months to a maximum of thirteen months.
