Staff Summary
* Pursuant to Illinois law, JULIE serves as a message handling notification service for underground facility owners regarding planned excavations. Lake County pays an annual fee.
* The County's existing storm sewer locating contract with Utility Resource Group, LLC of Sterling Heights, Michigan, began on March 1, 2016, and allows a total of four one-year contract extensions. This will be the third one-year contract extension and will cover the period of March 1, 2019, to February 29, 2020.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, processes over 7,600 storm sewer ticket screenings and locate requests from JULIE on an annual basis; and

WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, at its meeting of February 9, 2016, awarded a contract to Utility Resource Group, LLC of Sterling Heights, Michigan, for storm sewer ticket screening and locate services required to comply with the Illinois Underground Utility Facilities Damage Prevention Act for the period March 1, 2016, thru February 28, 2017; and

WHEREAS, the contract was extended for the period of March 1, 2017, through February 28, 2018; and

WHEREAS, the contract was extended for the period of March 1, 2018, through February 28, 2019; and

WHEREAS, said contract contains a clause providing for the extension of said contract for four additional one-year periods starting March 1 of each year; and
