Ordinance amending a previous ordinance designating the voting site assigned to three of the 415 precincts in Lake County Townships.
Staff Summary
• After reviewing voting sites for the April 2, 2019 Consolidated Election, voting site changes are proposed to provide better voting site locations to those precincts affected by a site that is hampered in its ability to continue serving as a site due to space and access limitations.
• Ela Township Precincts 94, 97 and 98 have previously been assigned to the Buffalo Creek Park Building for Election Day voting. The site is unable to continue serving as a poling site due to space limitations resulting from significant program expansion.
• Due to the aforementioned obstacles, Ela Township Precincts 94, 97 and 98 are being re-assigned to the Ela Township Office which has adequate voting and parking space and is easily accessible for all voters.

ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, Lake County has 415 voting precincts in 18 Townships; and
WHEREAS, for Ela Township Precincts 94, 97 and 98, the current Election Day voting site at the Buffalo Creek Park Building, 675 Old Mill Grove Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047 is limited in its ability to continue offering an adequate location in its building to serve as an Election Day polling site; and
WHEREAS, each said precinct is being relocated to the nearby Ela Township Office, 1155 East Rt. 22, Lake Zurich, IL 60047 which has ample voting and parking space as well as full accessibility for all voters;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, the attached Exhibit A sets forth the affected Precincts by Township name and number and previous voting site and identifies the new voting site to which the affected precincts are assigned, listing both name and location.
