R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the Lake County Public Works and Transportation Committee endorsed an Excess Property Disposal Policy at its regular meeting on March 8, 2017; and
WHEREAS, an excess parcel of County owned property designated by pin number 06-10-400-003 has been identified as a priority to dispose of by quitclaim deed under the transfer of excess property to government agencies section of said policy; and
WHEREAS, the excess property containing approximately 0.35 acres is part of Wildwood Drive in the Village of Round Lake Beach, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, by disposing of the excess parcel, which was acquired in 1977 and is not needed for current or future transportation improvements by the Lake County Division of Transportation, the property will be more appropriately utilized for the public under stewardship of the Village of Round Lake Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Round Lake Beach has agreed to accept the transfer of the property and will approve an acceptance ordinance for its October 12, 2018, meeting; and
WHEREAS, the County Engineer and the Public Works and Transportation Committee recommend the transfer of the excess parcel to the Village of Round Lake Beach; and
WHEREAS, the County will prepare a quitclaim deed to be signed by the County Board Chairman and attested by the County Clerk which will transfer the ownership to the Village of Round Lake Beach at no cost; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with the Local Government Property Transfer Act (50 ILCS 605/2) the County adopts this resolution approved by a 2/3 majority of the County Board at its regular meeting on October 9, 2018, and this resolution will be effective upon adoption by the Village of Round Lake Beach of the ordinance reference above.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the property transfer is approved, and the County Board Chairman is hereby authorized to execute the quitclaim deed and the County Engineer is hereby directed to record and cause to be recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds, the quitclaim deed conveying said excess property to the Village of Round Lake Beach and to take any and all other actions necessary to complete such conveyance.
