Staff Summary
* Lake County has a need to enter into contract for the removal and demolition of the existing salt dome conveyor and installation of a new 24-inch salt dome loading belt conveyor to be mounted inside a salt/sand storage dome for the Division of Transportation.
* The current salt dome conveyor is over 20 years old and is in need of replacement.
* An invitation to bid was issued and extended to 13 qualified vendors and sealed bids were received from two non-local vendors in the amount of $333,268.32 to $334,240.
* Kimco USA Inc. was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder who best meets the needs of the County in the amount of $333,268.32.
* Funding has been secured for this service through the Fiscal Year 2018 approved budget and the contract will be managed by the Division of Transportation.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Lake County has a need to contract for the removal and demolition of the existing salt dome conveyor and installation of a new 24-inch salt dome loading belt conveyor to be mounted inside a salt/sand storage dome for the Division of Transportation; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 33.036 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, a bid was called for the removal and installation of the Salt Dome Conveyor for the Division of Transportation; and

WHEREAS, an invitation to bid was issued and extended to 13 qualified vendors and sealed bids were received from two non-local vendors in the amount of $333,268.32 to $334,240; and

WHEREAS, Kimco USA Inc., Marshall, Illinois, was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder who best meets the needs of the County.
