Ordinance amending water and sewer related rates for certain Lake County systems.

Staff Summary

•                     The Rate Ordinance establishes all water and sewer user rates and connection fees for the County’s water and sewer systems and is modified from time to time.

•                     This Ordinance modification increases all retail and wholesale rates in accordance with section 51.20 of the ordinance, which establishes an automatic two increase.

•                     There are two exceptions to the automatic two percent increases that are based on pass-through treatment service increases.

•                     The Northeast Central retail service area sewer rate is being increased from $7.02 to $8.08 per 1,000 gallons as a pass through increase in sewage treatment costs by the North Shore Water Reclamation District. The Green Oaks wholesale sewer rate is being increased from $4.64 to $5.93 per 1,000 gallons as a pass through by the Village of Libertyville.

•                     The new retail rates will become effective December 1, 2018, the new wholesale rates will become effective January 1, 2019.
