RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the ICJIA has announced the continuation of a 6-month grant in the amount of $75,000 in federal funds for the State’s Attorney’s Law Enforcement Response to Drugs - Drug Prosecution program to provide concentration on convictions of drug related cases and offenders; and
WHEREAS, the grant program will fund a portion of the salaries for one division chief, one assistant state’s attorney and one investigator in the gang/narcotics prosecutions division; and
WHEREAS, the program budget of $75,000 as submitted to ICJIA, consists of $75,000 in federal funds and $15,000 from State’s Attorney’s Asset Forfeiture Funds, of which shall be provided as follows: $75,000 in federal funds distributed by ICJIA, to be deposited to State’s Attorney’s account 101-3307010-45334 and $15,000 in matching funds transferred from the State’s Attorney’s Asset Forfeiture Fund 760-3318010-79920 to account 101-3307010-49920; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the renewal as described herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the renewal of the State’s Attorney’s Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Prosecution Grant, in the amount of $75,000 for the period beginning October 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019, is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the grant program expenses are included in the State’s Attorney’s budget; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that grant revenue in the amount of $75,000 from the ICJIA will be deposited to account 101-3307010-45334 and $15,000 matching funds transferred from account 760-3318010-79920 to account 101-3307010-49920; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the State’s Attorney shall serve as project director for the program, and accurate records of all necessary grant compliance requirements shall be kept by the State’s Attorney Office; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Board, the Lake County State’s Attorney, and the Lake County Treasurer are hereby authorized to execute the necessary documentation to accept the renewal.
