Staff Summary
• Pursuant to 55 ILCS 5/4-10001, the County Board sets the compensation for elected officials not less than six months before those officials take office.
• Based on the election cycle for certain officials, it is necessary to set compensation for members of the County Board Group Two (under the four-two-four-year terms) and Group Three (under the two-four-four-year terms) for 2019 through 2022.
• During the County Board meeting, the motion for a 2.5 increase failed. The County Board’s directive was to freeze the salary for years 2019 through 2022 for County Board Groups Two and Three.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall fix the compensation of County-wide elected officials; and
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall set the compensation for elected officials not less than six months before those officials take office; and
WHEREAS, based on the election cycle for certain officials, it is now necessary to set the compensation for Groups Two and Three members; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of your Financial and Administrative Committee that the compensation set forth below for the respective elected office holders be approved by this County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the compensation for Groups Two and Three members shall be as follows for the years indicated:
for the year 2019: $43,018;
for the year 2020: $43,018;
for the year 2021: $43,018;
for the year 2022: $43,018.
