Resolution setting the compensation for certain County-wide Elected Office holders.
Staff Summary
* Pursuant to 55 ILCS 5/4-10001, the County Board sets the compensation for elected officials not less than six months before those officials take office.
* Based on the election cycle of certain officials it is necessary to set compensation for the County Clerk, Regional Superintendent of Schools, Sheriff, and Treasurer for the years 2019 through 2022.
* The resolution, as drafted, contains an increase of 2.5 percent and may be adjusted at committee direction.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall fix the compensation of County-wide elected officials; and
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall set the compensation for elected officials not less than six months before those officials take office; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of your Financial and Administrative Committee that the compensation set forth below for the respective elected office holders be approved by this County Board; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to set the compensation for the County Clerk, Regional Superintendent of Schools, Sheriff, and Treasurer for the years 2019 through 2022; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the annual salary for the County Clerk and Treasurer shall be as follows for the years indicated:
for the year 2019: $127,874 per annum;
for the year 2020: $127,874 per annum;
for the year 2021: $131,071 per annum;
for the year 2022: $134,348 per annum.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the annual salary for the Regional Superintendent of Schools, shall be as follows for the years indicated:
for the year 2019: $18,410 per annum;
for the year 2020: $18,410 per annum;
for the year 2021: $18,870 per annum;
for the year 2022: $19,342 per annum.
