R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, maintains 300 centerline miles of designated County highways on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Transportation (DOT) will participate in the County’s joint procurement process for the acquisition of ice control salt for the winter season of 2018-2019; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that 16,000 tons of ice control salt will be required for the 2018-2019 winter season; and
WHEREAS, before a letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $1,625,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the acquisition of ice control salt for the winter season of 2018-2019 by said joint procurement, under the applicable Illinois Highway Code, and designated as Section 19-00000-05-GM.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk is hereby directed to transmit four certified originals of this resolution to the district office of the Department of Transportation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the “Agreement of Understanding” between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 18, 2013.
