The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), SFY18 Childhood Lead Prevention Grant Award increased in the amount of $13,975 for the period of July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. The amount requested to be appropriated in LCFY18 is $13,975. These funds will continue to support childhood lead prevention activity. These funds will be used to offset staff salaries.
The National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO), Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Grant Award increased in the amount of $2,500 for the period of February 12, 2018 through August 31, 2018. The amount requested to be appropriated in LCFY18 is $2,500. This will further fund Lake County’s existing community emergency Medical response system through citizen volunteer involvement. These funds will be used to hire a contractor to help us design and create a MRC recruitment/retention handbook.
The IDPH, SFY18 Chronic Disease and School Health (CDASH) Grant Award increased in the amount of $10,000 for the period of July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. The amount requested to be appropriated in LCFY18 is $10,000. These funds are for targeted local health departments to lead the implementation of diabetes, heart disease and obesity prevention and promote school health in their communities. These funds offset existing staff.
Suggested Motion
To accept the additional funding of $26,475 from IDPH and NACCHO. If deemed necessary, to authorize the Executive Director to execute an emergency appropriation or line item transfer to allow for expenditure of these funds.
