Staff Summary
• The Committee is engaged in a series of discussions on text amendment topics.
• This discussion will be a continuation of the January 10, 2018 discussion of local food and introduction of rural business.
• Local food amendments implement the Lake County Board Strategic Plan Goal: “Promote a Sustainable Environment, by benefiting the public health, the local green economy and the environment.”
• Rural business amendments are intended to reasonably accommodate businesses well-suited to rural environments where few neighbor impacts are foreseeable.
• Staff will refine the comprehensive draft after concluding the discussion series and present a final version for Committee to formally initiate the text amendment process.
