RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has provided a WIOA Rapid Response grant totaling $53,244 to the Lake County Workforce Development Department; and
WHEREAS, this grant is for the program period of July 1, 2017 through
December 31, 2018; and
WHEREAS, this funding covers staffing expenses associated with case management activities for displaced workers impacted from multiple plant closings and lay-offs eligible under the Trade Adjustment Assistance; and
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation of $53,244 is requested to allocate these funds into Workforce Development’s county Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that a county FY 2018 emergency appropriation in the amount of $53,244 for Workforce Development is hereby approved and that the WIOA Rapid Response grant be accepted.
