R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gelden Road, County Highway 66, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Gelden Road, from Deep Lake Road to Grass Lake Road, could be resurfaced; and
WHEREAS, plans, specifications, and estimates of costs for this improvement have been completed, and this improvement is now ready to proceed to contract letting; and
WHEREAS, before a construction letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is needed; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $810,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the resurfacing of Gelden Road, from Deep Lake Road to Grass Lake Road, which will be improved under the Illinois Highway Code for a total of 1.29 miles, and designated as Section 17-00147-02-RS.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk is hereby directed to transmit four certified originals of this resolution to the district office of the Department of Transportation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 18, 2013.
