RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board passed a resolution on January 14, 2003 authorizing Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) participation by County elected officials, provided they work 1,000 hours or more annually; and
WHEREAS, the County elected officials affected by the 2003 resolution include Circuit Clerk, Coroner, County Clerk, Recorder of Deeds, Sheriff, States Attorney, and Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, effective February 13, 2017, the IMRF Board of Trustees adopted a resolution requiring recertification of IMRF eligibility every two years for all elected positions; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, certifies that County elected officials are eligible to participate in IMRF provided they work 1,000 hours or more annually; and
BE IT FURHTER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby authorized to distribute a certified copy of this resolution to all County elected officials, the Director of Human Resources, and the County Administrator’s Office.
