RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, due to the passing of Audrey H. Nixon, there now exists a vacancy in the District 14 County Board seat; and
WHEREAS, at the request of the Chairman, the County Board created the Chairman’s Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on the District 14 Vacancy, appointing County Board Members Carol Calabresa, Mary Ross Cunningham, Sandy Hart and Aaron Lawlor, Clerk of the Circuit Court Erin Cartwright-Weinstein, and Chairman of the Lake County Democratic Party State Senator Terry Link; and
WHEREAS, the ad hoc committee received applications from 11 candidates, interviewed four, and recommended the appointment of Vance D. Wyatt to your Chairman; and
WHEREAS, your Chairman recommends Vance D. Wyatt be appointed to represent the County’s 14th District on the County Board; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 5/25-11 of the Election Code, Vance D. Wyatt shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term; and
WHEREAS, your Chairman also recommends the appointment of Vance D. Wyatt to fill the vacancies on the Law and Judicial Committee, the Ethics and Oversight Committee, and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Vance D. Wyatt is hereby appointed as the District 14 representative on the Lake County Board, and as a member of the Law and Judicial Committee, Rules Committee, Ethics and Oversight Committee, and Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
