RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has provided a TAA grant totaling $292,364.28 to the Lake County Workforce Development Department; and
WHEREAS, this grant is for the program period of April 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018; and
WHEREAS, these grant funds cover tuition and related training expenses for displaced workers impacted from multiple plant closings and lay-offs eligible under the Trade Adjustment Assistance; and
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation of $292,364.28 is requested to allocate these funds into Workforce Development’s county fiscal year 2017 budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that a CFY’17 emergency appropriation in the amount of $292,364.28 for Workforce Development is hereby approved and that the Trade Adjustment Assistance grant be accepted.
