Ordinance amending the Lake County Ethics Ordinance.

 

Staff Summary

                     The Lake County Board adopted the Lake County Ethics Ordinance on May 11, 2004, in accordance with the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act (Public Act 93-615).

                     In conformance with State law, the County periodically reviews its Ordinance to determine if amendments are required.

                     On February 1 and May 2, 2017, staff presented recommended amendments to the Ethics & Oversight Committee to include additional provisions and to clarify language in the ordinance.

                     The Committee provided staff with alternative recommendations and amendments. Staff have reviewed these amendments with the State’s Attorney’s Office, incorporated them into the Ordinance, and are requesting consideration for approval from the Lake County Board.
